Don't know where to look or find my friend @redpossum

Wow, if it's on everyday basis, I'd be very concerned for 11 days. Possiblely he was arrested or into an accident, or even sudden death. If he is a US citizen, report it to USDOS, and email or call the US embassy, they usually collaborate with local authority. If he is an Argentine or other...

Long Term Rental with Temporary Residence

There are some realtor working for expats mainly, and they usually only require one month of deposit, no Argentinian BS at all. Anyway, $1500 dollar for an apartment, it must be fancy, like a three bedroom.

    Temporary Residence Renewal

Tha's way too expensive, someone suggested $500-$800 should be reasonable, still expensive. Alternatively you can do it yourself, if it's precaria renewal, you can try in the Migracion website and pay in Radex, I did myself.

I moved from the US to Argentina for the lower cost of living

Just move to Mexico or China, super cheap and high quality of life. Fridge in my nearest Vea was 1.3M pesos last month and same fridge with new sticker of 1.6M pesos. Who knows, maybe at some point it might be 1 billion pesos for a pack of rice. Milei's shock therapy really worked well.
