    Moneygram transfer

Hmm, this is a bank transfer and the funds have already been debited. I'll try with a debit card, next time. Thanks!

    Moneygram transfer

Does Moneygram always take 3 business days to deposit? I was hoping the turnaround would be faster after the first few transactions, like on WU.

Bit of a nightmare rental situation - what are my options?

I'm not your lawyer and don't know the specifics of your case, this is not legal advice, I'm just commenting on the generalities of the law. Like someone else mentioned, there's no such thing as a 1-year lease. Leases over 3 months (even if they're "renewals") are considered to be extended to...

    Western Union money transfer

What are the fees like if you want to buy USDT with USD? Not trying to get into a crypto derail, just want to compare the final cost of that option vs. something like WU or MG.

US Phone Number to use here

I switched out of it last year, but it's not so much a plan as just the minimum amount of money you need to have at the beginning of the month if you have no other plans active. If your line doesn't have even that $3 + tax they'll just deactivate it eventually. Edit: I ported my number out of...

US Phone Number to use here

US Phone Number to use here

If the number is solely to receive verification texts and calls from banks and the occasional chat with customer service, I've found the best solution is to get a T-Mobile prepaid sim. 3 dollars a month gets you around 100 minutes/texts and after activating the sim you can put it in a...

How to dial Argentina phone number

15 isn't an area code. When cellphones first came out here, in the early 90s, they had a special out-of-network treatment that required them to have a special dialing scheme. I believe it was because technically they could be assigned the same numbers as regular landlines, but someone might...

Plan to build a rocket launch facility outside of Buenos Aires

There already is a rocket building facility outside of Buenos Aires, by the town of Pipinas, near the coast. https://goo.gl/maps/sHbJkNvZi6GmZKe76 They actually had one rocket launch attempt in 2014 or so, which failed like most first rockets do, and then their funding got slashed because...

    Purchasing A House

What do you mean by "in this case"? There's no technical obstacle to wiring money to accounts from different owners, but banks have their own anti-money laundering regulations. I've never heard of an issue wiring money from husband to wife as long as you show the proper paperwork, though.

    Purchasing A House

Is there any reason you cannot do the transfer to your wife's account? If you're married, it shouldn't be a problem for the bank.

Paying for foreign purchases with Arg debit card

I belive, but might be wrong, that the FMI has said that one of the requirements for assistance will be for some sort of unification of the exchange rate. I don't think the Solidario will survive, even if there is still a gap between the official rate and CCL for a while.

Paying for foreign purchases with Arg debit card

If what were the case? A lot of people don't read forums like these, a lot of foreigners don't have local bank accounts and/or debit/credit cards, a lot of people just pay cash only. On the flip side, a lot of people go the extra mile and bring USDs through WU or at CCL rates, buy dólar MEP or...

Paying for foreign purchases with Arg debit card

Yes, but even with all those surcharges, the rate still works out at around 180 pesos, which is what's called "Dolar Solidario". Add to that the 1% for Ingresos Brutos if you live in CABA. Gun to my head, I would say yes, there's no free lunch.

    Western Union money transfer

If you haven't lived in Argentina for 20 years, technically you're no longer a fiscal resident of the country. The problem is that AFIP can still consider you one if they believe you have enough of a presence in Argentina. There's a lot of stuff that goes into that. Having a bank account here...

How to bring in USD Legally to buy property?

Is the property going to be in both your names? If so, you shouldn't have an issue transferring the money to your GF's account. The bank will likely ask for proof, something like a reserva or Boleto, but as long as you clear it with them beforehand, it should be fine. If it's going to be in...

    Western Union money transfer

I was honestly "worried" it would drop a bit since there's been some vague good news about an agreement and the central bank has been actually buying dollars. I figured if it hadn't gone up after market open, I was probably safe. Oh well.

F me I just pushed a transfer an hour ago for 218, lol.

Declaring more than 10,000 USD in cash

I have to admit I had never even considered the possibility but I looked into the legislation and yes, you're supposed to declare anything over USD 10,000. Unlike the US, the 10,000 is a per person limit, not per group (and the US considers whatever they want a "group", as long as they believe...

Consumer Protection Agency for consumer purchases

It's been a while since I've used ML but it used to be that you could select an option to arrange payment directly with the seller, but you would lose buyer protection.
