Advice Renting a Car to Move from San Luis to BA

Hi! I've been living up in Potrero and for a few reasons it's time to move to BA> I have a small dog and am trying to research the best way to travel down. I don't have many things-only a few bags. I wouldn't mind driving but I'm not finding many well-priced options (around $550US for 24hrs to rent here and drop off there). Suggestions are welcomed and I'd love to grab a mate when I arrive this Wednesday/Thursday!

With a few local exceptions, dogs are not allowed on buses...though a small dog in an inconspicuous doggy bag might go unnoticed, especially if it was sedated.
