I was quoted 5,000 pesos (including materials) to paint my small, 2.5 room apartment in 10 days. That didn't include either my tiny kitchen or bathroom. When we protested, they said that they could half the quote but that we would be getting a different "mano de obra" (quality). I have no idea how on earth they managed to justify their prices but it seriously made me consider quitting my job to take up a career in house-painting. We ended up painting it ourselves over two weekends. Total pain in the arse but ended up costing us about 400 pesos in paint for an ok job.
Perhaps if you know any students on their winter break, you could offer the job to them but I certainly wouldn't get one of those "pros" in.
