I found an interesting video on a Youtube channel called Ahí les Va. It's mostly about the western MSM shrieking over new agreements between Russia and China, but there's a brief mention of Argentina at 7:24 that I will try to cue up.

Full disclosure - the young woman presenting this video, Inna Afinogenova, is also a sub-director of RT Spanish. Born in Dagestan, she studied Spanish with an Argentine profesora for many years in her childhood, before attending university in Moscow. She doesn't do the rio platense SH-for-Y thing, but her Castellano is beautifully clear and fluent; as a language teacher, I delight in just listening to her speak. So, you can call this propaganda if you wish, but if so, it is highly articulate and persuasive propaganda.

Where will Alberto say the Russians descended from?
OK, that made me actually laugh out loud. It's still hard to believe what he said. I mean, how is a uni professor so tone deaf to his own stereotyping? For those who didn't catch it, our illustrious presidente said -

"The Mexicans came from the indians, and the Brazilians came from the jungle, but we argentinos descended from the ships".

Needless to say, Mexico and Brazil were somewhat less than amused by this comment, though it did provide reddit with a wealth of howlingly funny memes.

Come to think of it, I wonder how the Mapuche regarded this observation?

Having lived in Brazil and Mexico... we're very glad we're here. And in Tuscany for the winter months. There's something to be said for a culture that largely comes from Europe rather than the options.
