The deal with Javier Milei shows how America-first dealmaking is bending global finance to serve authoritarian and extractive ends

Well, well, well! That rather short article is surprisingly on-target!
This is far better journalism than I expect from the Guardian. No doubt the author will find himself looking for a job soon.

Ummmmmm, this is an editorial, with no by-line. As the title of editorial says:

The Guardian view on Argentina’s bailout: when Trump’s ally calls, the IMF obeys – at a cost

So I guess the entire editorial board should be looking for a job soon? I don't understand your point @Redpossum

The last sentence of the editorial: "In chasing ideological purity and Trumpian favour, he deepens Argentina’s chronic instability and drags the IMF’s global credibility down with him."

I 100% agree that Milei is deepening Argentina's chronic instability. However, I don't agree at all with the suggestion that the IMF has global credibility. And I still think the Guardian is an excellent newspaper.
