I wouldn't argue that it is corrupt institution with many problems, but you are chewing endlessly on only this institution (and football hooligans, lol, like there are so many and like they are like this because of football). If you would study pedophilia more closely, you would realize, that is far more widespreaded in families, then in schools and social institutions, sport ... anywhere, where sick people can access helpless victims. And guess what, in all of this cases, governments, institutions and even society acts the same as church - they close their eyes and do (almost) nothing.

I think when associating (only) church with pedophilia you are actually giving mandate to do horrible things to everyone else. Because now everyone knows this can happen only if priest is involved. No priest, no crime ...
