After voting themselves an almost unbelievable 47% pay raise (el dietazo) some 350 Argie multiparty politicos/as will be flying up to Washington and New York next week to watch the US election results in situ as some kind of a learning experience according to day's Clarin.Give me a break already, please.Have they no shame at all?
I am no Kirchnerist but I agree more with the words of Cecilia Nahon Cristina's ex embassador to the US.
"..... It is our obligation as Argentines and Latin Americans to defend our own (interests and obligations ) while agreeing on mutual benefitting agreements without sacrificing our identity and necessities".
Now that the US is on the skids according to some political science specialists of Latin American origin who post here there is even more reason
not to move but to improve right here in their own region. Or not?

I'm trying very hard to get past the part where, I suppose with straight faces, they contend that being in the country where the election is held gives them some kind of educational advantage. I suppose they plan to watch the results on Bergdorf-Goodman's large-screen TVs?

For some reason they seem to prefer Macy's.

For some reason they seem to prefer Macy's.

Of course! It's the common touch!

It's the same reason I'm in BsAs right now. With the peso-dollar rate frozen (for now) I can enjoy the same inflation as any CGT member. It's all about solidarity with the workers.

EJLarson.
Solidarity is key.The Argentine embassador to the UN will offer a reception for a select few of the 35 ( 350 was a typo, sorry) visiting congress members.
Nobody can ever accuse Argie politicos/as of not being on the cutting edge of fashion.
Cristina's envoy to the UN,a woman.aware that "Brooklyn is Back" demanded to be relocated to super high rent Brooklyn Heights.
When Evita was secretly operated on for cervical cancer in Nov.1951 by NY surgeon George T. Pack Peron gove him a personal tour of the Pink House besides flying him down
incognito on a vitage WW2 US aircraft. After showing him Evita's extensive wardrobe,he reportedly remarked to Dr. Pack,"No exactamente una descamisada"--"Not exactly a shirtless one" "Los Descamisados" were the most downtrodden of the Argentine social strata of the time who greatly benefitted fom Justicialist government..
The motto was "Peron legisla,Evita dignifica". Their legacy has endured for good or bad until the present day.
