Over the last 80 years there have been incredible films made in Buenos Aires and a classic that is not well known is Apartment Zero filmed in 1988 . Its one of the best films I have seen on the city and it is in english . It perfectly catches the soul and spirit of that time

Watch it the filmography and acting are superb . The ending is superb.

well i saw Apartment Zero and, well, i just didn't get it. i guess i'm not cutting edge enough? (could very well be...)

Would have to say 'Los Paranoicos' or The Paranoids has got to be one of my favorite films that has come out of Argentina. It's relatively recent (within the last six years or so) and is more character driven as opposed to more plot driven.

But that one was only filmed here, actually is a yankee movie financed, directed and interpreted by is creator, Robert Duval himself in contribution (sic) of his passion for the dance and to promote is wife Luciana Pedraza and I agree not the best not the worst movie from this actor.

my recent favorite was "el agua del fin del mundo". saw it at a latin film festival in nyc. may not have opened here yet. something to watch out for.

My favorite is "Mundo Grua." On the lighter side, "Familia Rodante." Both are directed by the excellent Pablo Trapero.
