I have just booked a trip to Bariloche as we had vouchers we had to use. However my husband thinks its a silly idea as with the falling ash, the place is 'dangerous' and most of the activities [ rafting/swimming/....] will not be going on as before. Has anyone been there recently and can settle my mind that its still a great place to go even with the active volcano near by ?
thanks ;]

It's not dangerous to be here. I live in it every day with my kids. Rafting and swimming should not be cancelled. However the lake is too cold for me to go in during the summer. Their are good days and if it's a bad day you can always wear a mask. You can get them at the pharmacies. I don't know when you are coming, but the summer is not so windy and it's beautiful. Their are days when I can't tell if I am breathing in ash or all the dirt from the dirt roads.
