In the last few days, Exchange4Free has stopped sending money
from abroad to Banco Frances BBVA accounts in Argentina !
They said this was due to problems getting the money paid out.
I also heard a few weeks ago that Banco Frances BBVA Argentina
required a client to come into the branch in person before they´d
deposit money into his account that he´d sent himself from abroad,
via Xoom. Since the client was too far away to come to the branch,
the money was not deposited.
These problems with sending money to Argentina from abroad make
my head spin. Please correct me if I´m mistating things, but that´s
the gist of the matter.
I just want BBVA Frances (Argentina) clients to know about this,
before they go outside Argentina and try to send money to their
account.
Also, not all bank accounts in Argentina are "International". That
means that wire transfers from abroad cannot be made into those accounts, I´m
told.
