Belle Epoque Of Gran Argentina

What happened was a number of smaller military coups during the Infamous Decade, which killed all the stability that
existed with the undemocratic governments of the early 20th century, then when some form of democracy came about
you had Peron, we all know how great he was (sarcasm) then during reelections you had massive indirect/direct proscribing
of parties like the UCR or left wing anti-military candidates, creating a false democracy and more instability, then you had
more coups, return of Peron, Isabel Peron and her handlers rain of terror, a military Junta (nothing new at this point, although
this one had support from outside of Argentina) then a return to democracy, hyperinflation, limited stability, economic meltdown
and default, 3 presidents in a matter of weeks, and then Nestor and Xtina driving the country down the tubes in the name of
Peronismo and Nac y Pop.

This is a brief summary of why Argentina is not a first world country, has been eclipsed by Colombia in terms of economy size
and minimum wage, lost the name of most developed South American nation to Chile, and why 25% of 2013 immigration in Uruguay
was from Argentines.

A very simple way of looking at things is if a black market exists for anything then your economy/policy isn't working.

At the time Néstor took over, there was no alternative to a forceful Keynesianism to reactivate the economy - you can quibble with the details, but it was the right thing to do. The problem is that he, and his successor, have never recognized the limits to Keynesianism, that counter-cyclical policies were necessary to stabilize matters as the country recovered. Cristina and Kicillof, though, appear to think it can continue forever.

Back in the mists of time the attempted economic leeching of Argentina by the great powers of the day didn't help much in the establishment of a young democracy. An burgeoning culture of corruption bent everything out of shape in the shake up.

Successful countries regulate rather than restrict. Strong non-government controlled state institutions where never implemented, the central bank and judiciary are tools of the govt of the day.

The middle ground doesn't exist in Argentina, the Universities churn out students whose discourse is limited to the confused catchalls of "noe-liberalism" vs "Peronism" , neither of which stand up to much investigation but are expert at reducing a debate to playground nonsense.

The availability of an immigrant workforce should be a bonus for Argentina, the influx of immigrant food and culture should be too, first there needs to be some flexibility in the labour market. I left my house yesterday morning to meet the guy who runs the hairdresser next to my building almost in tears. He had a girl working for him for 8 years, they had some discussion about her working practices and a discussion about reducing her hours. Result? Denuncia!...she tried to claim half a million pesos, had to settle for 80k. Had to borrow the cash to pay her off. It's impossible, any successful busy is driven to hire in black, many times via the immigrant population, this means that they are excluded from protection achieving the exact opposite of the intended effect of labour protection. Suspicion is rife, if you can hire in black you will. Nobody will run the risk of legalising a job with the incredible tax overheads and the overwhelming risk of trivial lawsuits which will cost a fortune. Everyone I know running a successful business hires in black where at all possible. Those who went under generally did as a result of corruption or being sued one too many times for frivolous reasons.

The legal system is in the grip of a social experiment and like the central bank is just another component of a government controlled project. I don't believe in the credibility of anyone who believes this should be the case.

Neoliberalismo (never defined) has nothing on 70 years of Peronismo.

70 years of peronismo? do you have any idea of what are you talking about? Go and study the peronists governments in Argentinas history and then come and talk to me.

OK, 68 years. You don't have to be in power, in the most formal sense, to dominate the country's politics.
