i know the best would be a friend traveling from US to bring my new credit card, but i dont know of anyone traveling....any one having experience with credit card via fed ex or other carrier?

Most credit cards companies won't send to a foreign address, so we have ours sent to a family member and then DHL'd here, comes right to the apartment as long as it's flat and only paper and the card, for package items that aren't flat you need to go to the DHL office for them to open for potential import taxes owed.

thanks for the info! my bank already sent it to my sis so i will have her ship it!

i been getting my mails from US sent by DHL to Argentina. Takes around 3 or 4 days to get delivered. Use Eurosender.com to buy DHL label with pickup. Costs almost 90% cheaper than what it shows on DHL website.

I will share my experience receiving a new VISA debit card over the past 25 years in BA without any problems or delay. The credit union mails the new card to me in a blank envelope more than a month before the expiration date. In order to use the card, I have to call an 800 phone number and provide personal information for the card to be activated. No one else can use the card. Mail service still works, and I don't have to be at home to sign for it or rely on someone in the US to send it.

Did that with 2 separate debit cards. It was worth the cost.

Almost every year I am the victim of credit card fraud and I need to get new cards. The best way is to contact the bank and make sure that they send it in a way provide you with a tracking number, 100% traceable, which could be Fedex, UPS or any Company they like to use. So I tell them that unless they do that, I will never get the card and I call again to get a tracking number so that I know exactly what day it gets delivered to me - usually within 2-5 days.

I have AmeriPrise, Schwab, CitiBank, Bank of America and Chase and none of them will ship a card outside of the USA. You're lucky your bank will do it.
