Hello Everyone;
My husband in Buenos Aires from Canada.
We booked an apt using " ByT Argentina".
When we arrived at the Apt we sat waiting outside for the ByT Agent, when he allowed us into the apt he requested payment at a 6.8 exchange rate - we were told we had to pay "Black Market" (their words) prices in peso's. My husband calmly explained we knew the exchange rate was approx 4.9 and are willing to pay 5.5 but that 6.8 was very high - the agent didnt even respond and instead called the ByT agent at the office and handed him the phone - the "customer service" agent was belligerent - we were told "pay the fee or get out.
The Apt was adverstised as facing "green space", "docks", "sunny living area" and "patio" - the pictures confirmed. Wireless Internet included, Gym, Pool ect.
The internet is not working. When we arrived the blinds -broken, were down - facing a construction site with in meters of the patio which we are unable to use due to the Extremely -almost comical noise. Workers are meters from our window - there is literally NO green space and the only way to "face the docks" would be to stick your head around the corner of the building.
We followed up with a call to Ana, the "customer service" rep - who within less then a couple hrs emailed to advise there is nothing they would do to assist us, not move us,not give us a refund or partial refund to move to anothe location, ect. We have been in contact with 4 Byt representatives and all claim they will not assist us.
We strongly recommend that rental agencies that deal in black market peso's and take no responsablity to at least over see their website to ensure property owners are updating their rental advertisments be avoiding and held accountable.
ByT Argentina has shown bad faith, faulse advertising and poor customer service.
