As is my wont, I've been browsing in local bookshops, and I've seen a fair number of books on Argentina's recent history, including a two-volume biography on Peron. My Castellano isn't upto scratch, so I can't assess the merits of the various books I browse through. Can anyone recommend any books in Castellano on this subject?
While I'm on the subject of books, I've also noticed exegeses by various Argentinian authors on the works of Lacan, Heidegger, Derrida, Foucault, and so on. There's clearly a local market for such books. What's the nature of intellectual life in the metropolis? Where do Argentinian people meet to talk philosophy and culture?
