Wong Kar Wai 's "Happy Together" set in la Boca , San Telmo about a gay couple. Paradoxically a non Argentinean director captured very well the esencia of these two barrios.
Check also director Daniel Burman. his films are set in Once (Jewish neighboorhood)

This director is a national treasure and his film happy together is a classic of modern cinema. The music from this film The Rough Dancer and the Cyclical Night from Astor Piazzola conveys the melancholy and tension of Buenos Aires to a T.
