I'd like to purchase a full motorhome before I get married locally (plans to do so shortly). I want my home on wheels to be safe from any potential grabby-grabby if there is a divorce later on.
One can go to an escribana to exempt some things from "property considered to be in community of marriage". However, I've been told that de facto, this can change after you have been married 10 years (or something, I can't remember), rendering such exemptions meaningless. With that as a basis...
1. If I sell my existing vehicle (which was not a good purchase) will I need to pay something like capital gains on that? (it will be a net loss anyway)
2. Is it possible to bring in $25-30k via crypto / cuevas, and use that to buy a vehicle without being targeted by AFIP, as a tourist? (is this even a problem for non-working tourists?)
3. After I get married, will the fact of my owning a car be known by AFIP/ARCA and will I be expected to then pay tax on it once I gain residency?
I am registered with AFIP (to be able to purchase property). I need to know the implications before I go ahead.
