Call Forwarding to Local Phone with Skype

The best thing that I did to stay in touch with my family in the USA is to setup a Skype online number and that set it to call forward to my cell phone and if my cell phone does not pick up to forward to my home phone.

This allows for my family to call a local US number anytime they want to contact me without any hassle with long distance charges for them.

The online number is $18 for three months and put $10 in credits and you are good to go.

Don't cell phones that receive calls from abroad get charged? Movistar charges at least.

I have this set up with my phone as well and it works wonders. Now my family in the U.S. can actually call me whenever they want and we do not have to set up a Skype date.

As far as fees, Movistar does not charge me anything. It is a bit dangerous because my account automatically will recharge to 10 USD of credit when it gets low, so I do not really have a notion of how much money I am spending on this. I should probably investigate a bit. Ha.

I think it is worth it though.
