The 2 banks involved would be Banco Patagonia and HSBC if it matters.

From my experience, yes they can as my realtor was able to cash my check with no problems. However there is a % fee they have to pay some of course my landlord tells me he is unable to. TAB

Never did it, but I know it's possible to convert checks sent by Paypal (likely drawn on an US bank) into cash here (Banco Piano, etc.).

Just a lead since I don't have more info

Banco Piano can do it, but you have to comply with their list of requirements and deal with their nasty staff.

I rceived a check in the mail for settlement of a class action suit. This came as a wonderful shock, as I submitted the required info about 4 years ago. The check is for US$1,300.00. If I take the check and my U.S. passport to a bank, will I be able to cash it? Will they give me U.S. dollars?
