Can anyone tell me how to pay utility bills with a credit card from the USA? I own a house in BsAs, I do not want to use pagofacil. how do the expats do it?

Many thanks
Bill

Yes, you can pay most of the utility bills with a foreign CC: energy, gas, phone and likely water also.

Thank you French J. for the fast response! 10 years ago (ancient I know) I was not able to do this. So you are saying, now I can go to the (electric company) and give them my credit card (visa) and they will set up the automatic payments?

I hope this is true my life will be changed ;-)

Many thanks!

Actually, and it sounds odd indeed, it might be trickier to set up an automatic payment with a foreign CC than actually giving the same CC details every month.

This should be checked. Likely others have good answers about that.

I was at the Edenor office on Bulnes last week to pay my bill and they will not accept foreign cards. Claro does not accept foreign cards either. I have used my foreign credit card to pay Telecom but they cannot do automatic payments with it.

I had been paying my bills through Rapi Pagos telephone payment service with my foreign credit cards up until last month, this month all payments were not accepted, I tried my ATM card and various credit cards (all US issued) with no luck. I think that with all the changes in the government's "control the dollar" policies that foreign credit cards are not being accepted for these payments. I have Cablevision on automatic payment with a foreign credit card - when I get the bill I'll let this forum know how that is working out.
Living in Argentina equals constant changes. Gotta love it or leave it.

just used my moneybookers credit card to pay aysa. all worked well! *cannot believe, that I wasted my youth standing in line 1st cash machine + 2nd rapid pago*.
the bank account system shoudl be working fine as well, still, do not hold any personally, but friends told me so

I have Swiss Medical on auto-pay with a foreign CC.

Also, Personal will take foreign debit cards but not credit, (perhaps other companies will do the same).
