Can Tourist Exchange Pesos Back To Dollars?

Hello out there!

I was just wondering if tourists are allowed to exchange their left over pesos back to dollars at the official rate?
If so, does anyone know where this could be done? and up to how much will they change back?

If it helps, I'm Argentine and my husband is from the US, but on a tourist visa.....

I was asked to show the receipt from the place where I purchased the pesos, ATM or Bank receipt? there may also be a limit on the amount.
