Hi! I am really interested in going to a carnival this year as I haven't been one before.
I really don't know anything about anything about these.
When is the best time to go and for how long?
What to do and see?
Where to stay?
What to bring?
How to get there?

If anyone been to anyone of them and could give me some advice, I would really appreciate it!

I went there a few years ago, very nice and safe. Get the tickets here in advance, and there is a nice 4 star hotel in town. See the city web page

They are twi different things. Gualeguaychu is Rio style but tiny. At Uruguay is murga that is something different. I was at Gualeguaychu and I had fun.

I went to "Carnaval/Carnival" (spelling changes depending on the country) last year in an Uruguayan town near La Paloma, UR. They just blocked off a long street and people were walking back and forth spilling beer and other everywhere and it was just a crowded mess of wasted young people. I think that I'm too old for that now.

That's the only Uruguayan Carnival that I know of.
