Does anyone know of anywhere that holds wood working or carpentry courses? Thanks

For woodworking, try asking anyone offering boxes, carving boards, etc. at one of the local artisan fairs. Many of the craftsmen teach classes, or "talleres".

For carpentry, as in building shelves, try the Municipalidad. Here in San Isidro they offer practically free carpentry courses, but I don't know how good they are.

You might also try the local lumberyards - madereras. Their woodworking clients often leave their cards at the front desk.

are they in english Sara?

No, they are in Sanskrit. It's an unbeatable deal: besides woodworking, students learn a new language for free.

In Sanskritztahn, of course. A splinter country formed by leftover pieces of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.:)
