Today I went to the Central Market where you find ultra fresh vegetable at a very low price.
I bought one box of sweet corn for 350 p that means 16 kilos or 38 corns.
Red big apples 20 p.
Oranges 3 kg per 30 p
Pupking one soccer ball size for 30 p
Grapes green ultra sweet seedless 3 kg 60
Lettuces 1 kg 20 p
Melons 3 x 100 p
Peas 1 kg 50 p

Prices at CM are usually at least 50% cheaper. The only problem is that fresh produce does not last long. It is definitely worth it if you can split it with a couple relatives or friends.

You can buy per kilo.
However, by the box is a lot cheaper.

For a family with a SUV and a large freezer, is certainly a good savings.
BUT For ONE person alone is not practical. I drove a few times fighting the traffic it's a 40 min drive from Palermo/Recoleta. Add to that, the tolls , gas , trapitos and aggravation. Plus I only had a small fridge, under the counter , (Bajo mesada). Minimum freezer space. Conclusion now I walk half a block to the Boliviano, Verduleria and buy "fresh" produce for a couple of days
