Changes to Argentine Residency via Marriage – Official Resources?

As someone who is about to begin this process, this is really helpful information!! I have one question about the visa precaria if you happen to know -- I was told on the phone with a lawyer that you have to be in regular immigration standing [e.g. not overstaying a tourist visa] in order to qualify for the precaria. If I follow the process you've outlined above, marrying and then applying for the temporary residency while currently overstaying a tourist visa, will I still be granted a visa precaria, or does my irregular status make me ineligible?
No idea. You will have to chat with someone more qualified about that. I didn't need a precaria as I went the consulate route.

I have read here as well that you need to be in the country in regular standing. But take that with a pinch of salt.

Hi! Did you ever get a good answer to this? I'll likely be in the same boat as you and be overstaying by the time my birth certificate gets here and get married before applying temp residency

Hey, unfortunately I haven’t gotten an answer yet. My partner and I are just going to hope for the best; I’m lucky in that my circumstances don’t really require me to have a permanent residence visa if for some reason I’m ineligible due to irregular status. I do have one question for you though, I wasn’t aware that a birth certificate was required for either the marriage and/or temporary residency visa. Can you tell me more about where you’ve seen that as a requirement??

I was under the impression that to do the actual marriage in Argentina at the Registro Civil, me and my partner (who is a temporary resident) would need our birth certificates apostilled and translated. It's not explicitly stated here, but I've seen others mention it. Have you gotten married yet?

The family reunification visa doesn't require the birth certificate though.

Ah, I think that might be why I haven’t seen it. My partner is an Argentine citizen, so I think the requirements might be different? I haven’t gotten married yet, we have our appointment for December 1st. I don’t have my birth certificate so I’ll be hoping for the best. If you have your date scheduled later than that I can definitely follow up with my experience, but it may be a bit different with my partner being a citizen and yours being a temporary resident. I will do some more research and see if that’s the case.
