Container Garden Pests Aphids/mites Help!

I just noticed that one of my containers has either aphids or mites, there's small and clear and I can't tell for sure which they are. Anyone had any success getting rid of them? So far I only see them on that plant, I checked the others and don't notice any signs of movement or the bugs. I'd like to save the plant and prevent any spread, but I'm hoping that I caught it quickly enough at least for saving the other plants.

Mix water, minced or powdered garlic and a little dish soap in a spray bottle. Apply this to the underside of the leaves.

If this doesn't work and you do not have pets, go to the viveria and buy some insect poison, same application as above.

I have no pets but these are herbs that we eat so don't want to do any non-food safe poisons.

Buy neem oil and jabon phosphorico on Mercado libre, mix with water in a spray bottle. these are non toxic. also some garden stores sell an organic pesticide called Chau Chobi. You will probably need to leave one or two macetas as "sacrificed" plants and spray the rest a lot until they go away, then keep spraying every 4 or 5 days. Had aphids wipe out my kale garden at the end of August , very sad Purín de ajo might work, haven't tried it yet.

I've been dealing with all kinds of pests in my vegetable garden, mostly aphids. I tried "garlic tea" and neem oil unsuccessfully, but what has worked pretty well in my case is spraying a mix of water and jabon potasico on the leaves around 3 times per week. I bought it at Buenos Aires Market from Vivero Sonyando, and the lady said it is a natural solution for pests that is not toxic for humans. Good luck!

Thanks, I also found some Tierra de Diatomeas online, so hopefully I'll be able to pick up some today, and one will do the trick. I like my new garden I don't want to lose it to these suckers!

Aphids are pale green in color and have tiny visible wings when adult. They can be controlled by spraying with water that has some dish detergent added. The detergent acts as a wetting agent so that the water completely wets the aphids, causing them to suffocate from drowning. I find that if I spray every 10 days, the aphid population decreases quickly. I don't think they can be completely eradicated.

Aphids actually come in all different colors. I have seen green/yellow here and black ones in my ciboulette. hate those aphids!!! I think it's good to have a sacrifice plant that you don't spray so even if you can't eradicate them, they have a place to do their thing, and everything else gets sprayed. But i don't know if it's a bad idea keeping a bunch of them around...
