Ellos van a intentar evitar darte bola based on your age alone. They'll either straight up ignore your requests for a quote, or make up a differential cuota based on baseless math that will be ridiculously expensive as a means of discouraging your affiliation, think like 800K or something a month.

Now, it's important to remember that prepagas generally can't refuse any affiliation requests unless they're basically in receivership by the government. They can apply a differential cuota based on having a higher medical risk profile, but it must be both medically justifiable, and approved by the Superintendentcy of Health Services.

I suggest to hire an insurance agent and let him come out with quotes for you
I just asked Patricia about this. Her response was that insurance agents only provide price quotes for the companies with which they are afiliated and when it comes to health care with a prepagada, it is necessary to contact each provider separately and provide them with the details regarding your age and preexisting conditions to learn about the costs and the exclusions.

Of course it would be possible for someone who doesn't speak Spanish to ask (and/or pay) someone to make the inquires for them, but it is not somthing most "insurance agents" would be willing or have any desire to do.

PS: Patricia is an insurance agent.

Also, going the insurance agent route is really hard-sell, you will be expected to sign up on the spot.

In our experience, an insurance agent can leave things half-done, e.g. with the bank debit set up, but no actual documentation, and the agent has vanished (or moved to another insurance company).

For all I complain about OSDE and their monthly fees, they are the only half-serious insurance company I’ve found. And even there the goddamn insurance executive got in the way and screwed things up massively. You do need to be on your toes.

When I asked at Hospital Aleman, I was told that new coverage was unavailable starting from age 60, I believe. The cheapest coverage I found was at Hospital Italiano and nowadays it's quite expensive but it's very good. They will have to do a health assessment to tell you how much it costs.

OSDE requires a batch of tests to determine the value of medical coverage for seniors over 70 and over. Pre Existing ailments are not covered.
En salud.com provides coverage for seniors.

Just received notification, Hospital Aleman increase is going to be 3.65%.
65+ y/o, plan will be 391,000/month. No discounts for I have not been on the plan for 10 or more years.
The under 65 discount gone.
