I just got a quote from my dentist in Argentina for the crowns/fillings and lets just say viveza criolla was in full effect. Quoting in dollars was the first giveaway.

I will probably sign up for OSDE and go through them when I go back in March but considering paying cash. Can someone who has had recent dental work share with me what you paid for:
1) Fillings (the non-metal ones)
2) Root Canal
3) Crown (not the implant part - just the crown)

A high price for a consultation and xray, not the panoramic but the orbital.xxx....there are only 5 of these machines in B.A. Anyway...it was 4000 total. This is a high-end practice. This is a dentist frequently recommended on this forum.

I had several root canals in the past five years, and they were all around US$75 apiece. Hope that helps - I don't have updated information but will be glad to get it, if you like.

They were done by two different root-canal specialists. Very professional - no pain, no problems

Not a gringo rate. Just the rate of a dentist who got too big for his britches. He used to be reasonable up until about five years ago, when his rates doubled. But - BUT - he's just five minutes away from my home.

I looked up amalgam and it says it’s a metal type filing, not white? Is that right? Why didn’t you go for the regular white filing? Is there some advantage to amalgam? Last time I got metal filings was I think probably in the 1980’s or maybe early 90’s at most. I recently got a regular filing, white, also small, for 10,000 ARS.
