You can buy cheaper if you buy more in VITAL which is a MAYORISTA for kioscos and small shops. If you want candies, chocolates, cigarrettes, go to POTIGIAN.

PS: everybody knows (or so I thought!) that DISCO, JUMBO...... are very expensive. I wonder why people still go and then complain about it.

Another thing I noticed once, I went to buy tortilla chips at Jumbo once. They had the usual, Doritos Dips and the red bag of Macritas. There was no price for the macritas anywhere so I just assumed that the Dips would be cheaper since they aren't imported. But my boyfriend made me find a price scanner to check and the Macritas were a few pesos cheaper actually! They just didn't put the price tag anywhere; I assume in hopes that most people would be like me and assume they would be more expensive. And I'm sure it works, it almost did on me!

I bought Grey Poupon Country Style mustard at Jumbo the other week for about 15 pesos -- the local brands of the similar style mustard were all around 30 pesos. I didn't believe that it could possibly be the right price so I had brought both jars up to the caja with me just in case... and maybe it was a freak accident but Grey Poupon was cheaper (oh and expiry date wasn't near approaching or anything, I checked that as well!)

We did have a thread about this a few weeks ago. And yes, it's totally true and not just something that happens at Jumbo/Easy. Even at Makro and the others, it is cheaper to buy 2 smaller size packages of almost everything than 1 large package. So you get more product, it costs the manufacturer more to produce and you pay less. Yep, that makes sense
