Does anyone here have experience getting a tourist Visa to Bolivia?

....Or know of any professionals who specialize in that process?

(In short: little online documentation, weird requirements like an affidavit of financial solvency, no instructions on how to pay for it etc... argh!)

Hey,

In cases like this where you can only track down partial info online, I'd advise you go to the Bolivian Embassy and ask in person. You could also try emailing them.

Maybe people here will have experience too, but as requirements can be case specific and changeable, it's best to go to the source.

There is a very efficient Bolivian consulate in Once, very close to the railroad station. I was there a few years ago for some key paperwork, and it all got done very quickly. I was impressed. About three years ago, I flew into Santa Cruz de la Sierra with a US passport, and they issued a visa at the immigration station. Paid $100 dollars and I was in. Easy. Don't know if things have now changed.
 
Yeah, I was going to say. I went to Bolivia with no visa, just a passport (US) and got a visa at the airport.
