Donats in Buenos Aires

DOUGHNUTS or donuts are the local USA equivalent of the Arg. medialuna - perfect with coffee and available everywhere.

Donats is the local name, like sanguches is for sandwiches.

Argentines are phonetically-oriented, and write words the way they sound.
Makes a lot of sense, now I think about it.

In general I don't disagree with you, but donats sounds nothing like donuts. Dunkin' or otherwise. They do have a lot of trouble with their soft 'u's, though.

Maybe he meant Donnet. Its a mushroom heavy vegan restaurante near Federico La Croze.

Hello, how are you in this new year? I’m going to https://www.instagram.com/candymoon.arg/ to have some donats tomorrow in the afternoon with my daughter. Has anyone been there before? Some recomendation?

How were they?

It looks like the doughnuts at Candy Moon are very toppings-focused, which isn't my preference personally -- on their IG they also called a doughnut with a hole in the middle a "boston cream", so do with that information what you will.

Agreed that I've usually seen "donas", not "donats".

I think I’m still lost after two pages of discussion. What on earth is a donat?
