Eating on a budget

For 20 pesos, you can feed five people with a very healthy recette which is
stylish ! Une ratatouille !

It doesn't require any culinary skill to cook it :
buy tomatoes (mature ones, better), berenjenas, zucchini (I replaced today by zapallitos : it's that easy!), yellow pepper (otherwise a mix of red&green), tomillo, aceite de oliva, onions, garlic (cut it very tiny of course) and more or less if one wishes.
Put everything on the fire (that's when you put the aceite de oliva), salt, pepper. Cook on slow fire for 30 minutes/45 minutes depending on the size (must be sweet but not like a purée).

The secret : to cut the vegetables small enough so that they cook & blend quickly.

Enjoyed today for the first lunch in the garden with the first spring flowers starting to pop out !

It's now time to see Spring : for those on a small budget, prepare a ratatouille (excellent cold as well) and go have a picnic in a nice city park, on a nice napkin, etc... Can't beat that

If you're looking for meat at a great price you cannot beat the Carne Para Todos.

There are two in Constitucion, one in the station and one about half a block up Brasil (I think?) street. Just make sure that what you are buying is being subsidized that day, otherwise you will pay normal retail price. The deals are incredible, somedays theres jamon at around 15, somedays theres mila de pollo for 14, and almost always the asado is 10.50.
Provecho!
