Question...Should I bring my own router and wireless down? I will be stuck in short term apartments for awhile I assume.

OOPS, I ment modum...

My VPN provider sells ones made for different countries to scramble the IP to USA address. Good idea? I assume it is wired for AR current.

Most short term apartment have WiFi now days. If your from North America the voltage will blow up your devices.

Not a very practical idea.
You will likely find available Wifi service but you might need to be knowledgeable of any particular settings required to configure any modem-router for your own-VPN service needs.
Most locations will let you have a password to access the internet with no hassle but that does not imply administration of the device.
