I am driving up there tomorrow.I went to Gualaychu(no idea how to spell it!!!) 2 years ago and want to broaden my horizons.Any tips or ideas as to where is nice to visit.Staying until Monday, thanx in advance.Howard;)

I love Entre Rios - it's a beautiful province. Concepcion del Uruguay is a nice little town (better in summer as it has the beach) And I like Federacion (further north) - very pretty and with the thermal pools. Good for this time of year! Enjoy

El Palmar, El palacio de Urquiza, in Colón (Uruguay river coast).

In Victoria, the bridge across the Paraná Delta that ends in Rosario, the Abadía del Niño Dios (where you can find Monacal products: great Dulce De Leche, Honey, and a herbal liquor that many people find good). The big Hotel Sol, where there is a Casino and a great sight of the river.

Paraná, the capital city, is more like a "big town" rather than a city.

There are thermals all around, but I was told that the bests are in Villa Elisa and Federación. But now they opened (or are about to open) new ones in Victoria).

Don´t forget to listen to Chamamé and Chamarritas!!

just back from Colon,Concepcion,Concordia and finally San Pedro. The palace of Urquiza(now called San Jose)was fabulous. It was a wee bit fresh up there but a great break.......now back to work!!!

I went to Colon back in ~May for a visa run over to Paysandu. The weather was kind of bleak (rainy, cold, overcast). The drivers on the "highway" up there were horrible!!!! The river was flooded, so the park area by the river was flooded.

There were some baths that I did not check out, but might have if my Sunday wasn't focused on going over to Paysandu to get my stamp. Wow is that town dead on a Sunday early afternoon when the weather isn't great. Like a ghost town.

Traveling in the cooler months can be somewhat depressing if you don't have a plan.

I was in Entre Ríos too, but I went to visit family in the countryside, close to Victoria.

Another recommendation, if anyone is planning to go to Victoria - Entre Ríos: El Banco to have a drink and a huge picada in a former bank, for almost nothing. "La Bôite" (inside the Casino Victoria): people of all ages go to dance and drink there, but don´t go if you can´t stand the cumbia... the prices are also excellent. It obviously starts LATE (like 2 am).
