Most of my Argentine acquaintances, true, seem to be fairly openly Peronist. Those I actually know, though, seem to be a different mix.
Peronism can mean different things for different people. And i don't mean slightly different, i mean radically different things. This flexibility is probably one of the reason why peronism stuck around.
As for Eva, im hardly a peronist, but i do belive she was real and authentic and she was deeply commited to the peronist casuse. Of course "the cause" was not as good as she made it sound and she was quite autoritarian, perhaps even more than Peron.
