I have visited places where corruption means virtually every interchange with a government employee includes a "tip".
Police, customs, etc.
That doesnt really happen here.
I have seen, in the USA, politicians receive kickbacks, stock shares, discounts, and special deals in the millions to tens of millions.
That, to me, is corruption.
LBJ, for example, used his political power to buy radio stations at below market rates and get federal approval at dinner parties with the head of the FTC.
Thats corruption.
Trump was paid twice his posted rate by the government for hotel rooms for the Secret Service that protected him.
And so on.
On the other hand, the entire crypto industry is about transfering money to avoid taxes, and daily, the FX market is several Trillion dollars.
That is what builds and buys real estate in Punta, or Ascuncion, or Miami.
Its tax evasion, for sure. But so is exchanging a benjamin at the cueva on Florida.
