Food Crazed Expat

Misleading--but Food/Drinks/Book club is about right!
well ok then, I'll make the bagels ( Montreal style of course :p ).
In my ever ending search for things-not-found-in-Argentina, I started making them at home and discovered that - they ARE a pain in the a$$ to make, but are really better than the ones I used to buy in the supermarket up north.

So you coming to the book club with them? Last Wednesday of the month, 7:00pm my place...otherwise we may come looking for you.....

Maybe next time. Weekdays are tough... gotta feed my clan. Tonight it's chicken souvlaki w/ tzatziki and roast spuds.
This just goes to prove a point... you get people used to a certain quality and variety - they won't let you get away with just outputting some mac and cheese :p

Watch it there- my chile verde mac n cheese is legendary. Its been nicknamed "crack n cheese" because its so addictive.
Even as plebian a dish as mac n cheese can be made well, and can be delicious.
I doubt I could get the right ingredients in Buenos Aires to make it right, unless I packed them down with me, but I assure you that, done properly, Mac and cheese can compete with all comers.

My apologies, when I refer to mac and cheese; I mean the $.50 boxed, powdered cheese variety that one would make in a hurry to fill the void in their bellies. Your chile verde mac n cheese sounds great!

last night went for traditional dish. The prown~veggie Tempura, then opening the fume blanc...But would have been better to having more people savouring the Tempura plus the exquisite Mondavi Fume Blanc than just myself....
