Today is free for native English speakers. Normally it's 30 pesos, including a beer or soda. Why do we charge? A lot of people don't realize how much work goes into making sure there are always new faces at Spanglish - there are actually 3 full-time staff members. Events are so popular because we have 2-3 coordinators that help facilitate interaction and make sure things run smoothly. A lot of people are shy and can't easily approach strangers to practice; a lot of people are new to the city and are traveling solo. We keep growing because we make it fun and easy to practice and meet a lot of people. Now that a beer costs 15 pesos, we think that 30 pesos including a beer and often snacks, is a fair price for the service we offer. Please come check out an event sometime - I think you might agree!
