Free streaming movies and tv shows

Anyone have any experience as to whether Netflix is worth USD8 per month?
As opposed to the free services?

With a friend we checked out the 1 month free trial. Sellection is poor and mostly outdated stuff. Some titles were mutated/mutilated to spanish and the overall quality of the streaming is poor at best. Resolution is fine if you plan to watch it on a portable phone.

My friend has Fibertel Express (?) the 30 Mb one.

I'd say even for free it's still way expensive.
