Gauchos mourn as Buenos Aires cattle market set to close

Its kind of amazing its lasted this long. Mercado de Abasto moved in 1984, and it was just produce, no stinky poop and loud moos. Canuelas could certainly use the boost, too, and it makes a lot of logistical sense in terms of trucks and smell and acreage. Cant think of another city, globally, that has a large animal market right in town. But its still sad.
