Getting back to BA from the US

A month ago, a friend went to the USA on vacation with his wife and three children. When it was time to return, their flight back was cancelled, and there were no flights with five available seats. He had to return to work so he flew back by himself, leaving the family behind.

His wife and three children had to buy new tickets for the return flight. This was the only itinerary with four available seats:

Houston - Istambul
Istambul - Paris.
9-day stopover waiting for next available flight
Paris - Istambul
Istambul - Sao Paulo
Sao Paulo - Buenos Aires.

They got back on Tuesday, over five weeks after their scheduled return flight.

Not quite sure whether the Paris stopover was necessary, or just more vacation time

Istanbul. Argentina must be a paradise if you try so hard to get there.

Sorry - got the timing wrong. They left on vacation TWO months ago, not one.

It may be the quarantine, with everything having come to a standstill, but time seems to have lost all meaning. Months and weeks seem to have merged, and have become one blurry mass.

But then, perhaps it is just age creeping on. Perish the thought....!
