Does anyone have experience getting new pages at the embassy? Do they do an in depth check before giving new pages r do they just take the form and paste the pages??

They just added 20 pages into the passport (right in the middle of the book). File the paper and receive it the next day, No in depth check. It cost 40 dollars.

Did you have to make an appointment to do that? Or can you just show up during business hours and get and fill out the form there?

just a heads up to anyone renewing their passport, they give you the extra pages version for the same price.

I had pages added to my passport book 2 weeks ago at the Embassy in BsA.
It was rather painless. Fill out and print your form before you go.
As Gaucho mentions, you can click the 52 pages for the same price to get more pages.
You can skip the line, VIP style, and go right to the window.
Arrive between 8:30 and 10:30 I believe.
Once inside, I had to take a number, wait 5 minutes, then pay, wait 2 minutes and leave.
Need to return between 3 and 4 the same afternoon and its ready to go.
Hardest part was finding parking, take a taxi.

The U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires maintains a web site with information for U.S. citizens.

http://argentina.usembassy.gov/az-guide.html is a great resource. P is for passports with answers to your questions.

Just want to report how easy this was! After downloading and filling out the simple form for additional passport pages I arrived at the embassy today at 10:30. By 11:30 I had had my passport taken, had paid the fee with a credit card and been handed a receipt document which allowed me to return today (same day service at no extra charge!) to pick up the passport between 3&4. Arrived at 3:00 to pick it up, waited maybe five minutes, and VOILA! I think I'm good to go with blank pages enough for a minor world tour. Pretty painless process except for the fee, and the flowering bushes and jacarandas on the grounds were so pretty to walk through!
