Recently in another thread, I asked about how to best get dollars/U.S. income into Argentina. Several people kindly replied, explaining methods MUCH better than Western Union. Based on that, I thought I'd share what now seems best for me.

A few years ago (2022) I mentioned an Argentine brokerage company called Inviu, which I used to get dollars for a real estate purchase (something much more difficult back then). So I contacted my broker, Franco Tealdi, asking for his thoughts as he is also a highly regarded economist and professor. Easy peasy was essentially his reply.

This week I sent a $5k test wire from Schwab Bank (not brokerage account) to Inviu. Two hours later, $5008 U.S. was deposited into my Inviu account, a bit more than I actually sent do to the transfer method Franco used. The Schwab wire cost $15, so my entire net cost was $7. Not bad. Dollars held by Inviu earn 6-8% APR and pesos about 36%, so funds earn a little just sitting there, though much more aggressive options are available, of course. I needed some pesos for living expenses, so I had Franco exchange $1k U.S. and immediately received $1,340,325 --- an excellent exchange rate. An Argentine dollar bank account is necessary to actually get dollars in hand, as Inviu is a brokerage, though transferring either dollars or pesos to any bank is easily done.

I've always had excellent results with Inviu, and Franco in particular. He speaks perfect English and LOVES what he does, giving personal attention & expert advice. I cannot recommend him more highly, to anyone who may be interested. He can be contacted at 5493512661022 WhatApp.

I hope someone finds this useful.

The best route I found is using WISE.

Can transfer USD directly from WISE checking account to a USD account with Argentine bank and the fees are low and displayed clearly. I think roughly it was 20-30 dollars fees from each bank to send and receive $3,000.
