Good News - Netflix Now Available In Argentina

I just signed up for Netflix. It is $39 per month and entitles you to unlimited viewing of their library. Now for the not-so-good news: It is not much of a library. There are very few current and recent movies available.

If you are used to Netflix US or Canada, you will be incredibly disappointed. However, compared to what is available on demand here (nothing else!), it is a beginning.

I imagine as more people sign up, they will expand their library.

i have been using Apple tv 2 for a month or so now. i download my shows/movies from my Itunes account and then stream them from my computer to my TV. Netflix was not an option so far, but perhaps now it will be (as it is on Apple tv in North America)

today for some reason, it stopped working and says it is "connected to my network but NOT the internet." however i have no problems with my laptop connecting.
anyone have ideas, or know of a network (mac) specialist?
cheers

I watch it all for free. Its all out there on the internet already. Why pay for something when you can find it for free?

Thanks for all the info!

I also use iTunes, and it seems to be great! I just watch on my computer and I'm satisfied. I do miss Netflix though.

Itunes is a viable but expensive alternative. You can download rentals or purchases. However, a single movie can cost between $US10-$US15. A single TV show runs $US1.99. I find that to be very expensive. With Netflix, you pay about $US9.25 per month (39 Arg). It is a lower-cost alternative.

Also, I am not endorsing this method but the "truchos" on the street are also of excellent quality for 10 pesos. I have purchased Rio, Rango, Entangled and another children's film. They were copied from legitimate DVDs and were all of excellent quality. That is certainly another lower-cost alternative to Itunes.

Caution!! Netflix here in Argentina does not support IPods and phone-type devices. You can only use their programming with a computer or a short-list of Netflix-ready TVs. Itunes-purchased items, of course, can be transferred to an IPod, IPad or whatever else you may have.

Because technically it's stealing if you don't pay for it.
