I am thinking of bringing my Roku from the US and would like to know if I can use it to access US Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, etc.

If so, how did you do it?

Until now, I have been watching on my computer through a service that changes the IP address. But I don't know if I can do that with the Roku. And if I could, how would I do it?

Thanks!

Yes it is the same thing as with your computer. Either use a VPN (you could do that using a router) or one of those DNS services like unblock-us.com (easier to setup with your roku).

The Roku does not support DNS configurations on the device. You'd need to set up a DNS service on your router and make other changes too. Here is some advice:

It's not a simple setup. Maybe Apple TV or Amazon FireTV would be better...

Or a second router with a VPN (for example a router running dd-wrt) that the roku connects too.

I have an apple airport to do my wifi. Should I buy a second router? if so, is there a type you recommend? I really am not good at this stuff. Thanks so much for the previous advice!

You could get a second router and set it up with an account of one of those VPN providers - that is what I use here. In my case I had an older router (Linksys WRT160NL) where I was able to install dd-wrt - an alternative firmware. So maybe you have some older router lying around that you can use? To check if your router can be used with dd-wrt check out this page:

There are other alternative firmwares out there and there are router models that already come the ability to be used with a VPN (where you don't need to install a new firmware). Also some of the VPN providers offer you pre-configured routers. I used dd-wrt because it worked with the router I already had.

You plug that second router into your into your primary router (in your case the primary router would be your apple airport) and then configure your VPN account on it. With that scenario you end up having two separate wifi networks. One with a Argentinian IP for everyday browsing, email, etc. and one with an IP from the US that you use for roku/netflix and everything else that needs an IP from the US.
