Health Alert : US Embassy in Buenos Aires.

Yes, keep it in mind but don’t panic. The unfortunate family that is affected had a family gathering where they got sick.
There are occasional deaths almost every year, but as far as I have seen not from camping or staying in a hostería.
Cases come from people cleaning out an enclosed area and breathing in the virus.

True, the scary thing about this virus is that it spreads from person to person within the first couple of days of sickness and that the lady that died in Chile cought it that way.

However, it is way too broad to say be careful if you are traveling in that direction. What? South? If you go to Epuyén to visit family and you are about to have a barn party please be careful and air it out for an hour before. Otherwise don’t hesitate to come down south to enjoy our, at the moment, seemingly endless good weather and lovely lakes and rivers.

An expert MD mentioned that there are about 90 occasional cases of Hantavirus a year all over the country. with a fatality rate of 20% or more?

Airing enclosed spaces for hours is necessary, sweeping is not recommended, the sun light exposure is supposed to kill the virus... !
