10:02 PM - Central Time USA

DOW - -293
FSTE - -161
HANG SENG - -934
NIKKEI - -630

I think we might see a wild ride tomorrow, doesnt look good but neither does the NK/SK border thing either. We will see!

How old are you?
"history"? seriously?
I had money in the markets on Black Monday, in 1987- probably before your time- the dow dropped 22% in ONE DAY.
And I rode thru the tech crash, in 2000, when the Nasdaq went from 5000 to 1000 in a very short time- and the recession of 2008.

Now, of course its possible that this could be a big one- but most of the people I know who think so are into Disaster Porn.

The 2008-2010 Recession was pretty bad. I am dubious we will see that happen again right now, as at least a few structural changes were put in place...

The stock market is gambling. If you cant afford to lose, you cant afford to play.

This isn't about just the people playing the market and you know it, as you said "a big one"

But did i insult you personally?

Did I say something to personally attack you?

if so that wasn't my intention. I'm merely pointing out that something big is happening when all the markets in Asia are in free-fall, The Chinese have devalued their money 2 times in the last month. Korea is on the brink of war, the Chinese are moving massive amounts of weapons towards the Korean borders, Greece has defaulted and caused massive turbulence, along with Saudia Arabia down 7%, oil down to 39.97. Everything is pointing to BIG problems.

Logic would tell a sensible person something big is up when everything is going so wrong!

So yes, history is happening, and my age isn't the point, its dialectic ability or the capacity for abstract thought, Has that ability to connect the dots left you, or do you just want to get into a pissing contest about how much money you have or how old I am?

Me, I was just posting facts!

Oh and lets not forget the fact that the US created 4 trillion dollars of PAPER money in the last 4 years either, out of thin air, and the dollar blue just rose from 14 something to over 15.50 as of Friday.

If the markets go bad, the dollar goes bad, people lose fortunes, life savings, same with the dollar. but again I'm posting the obvious, the facts, so why did you attempt to belittle me?

I was trying to help, what are you doing?

Even if the market doesn't crash, check out this list of possible dates for the end of the world!!! I recommend that you stay in on 2015 Oct 7, it could get a little smoggy!

Wow! How condescending was that!

Is the world about to end? Hardly. But I think we are witnessing the beginning of the end of a massive credit inflated asset bubble. A global spanning bubble, for that matter.

It is not the end of civilization as we know it. But a lot of people will lose a lot of money and I think the geo-political landscape of the world will be quite different after all is said and done. So yes, I do think we are witnessing history happening. Just like we did back in 9/11/2001.

One has to hope that North Korea's posturing is yet another piece of sabre rattling as has happened so often over the years.
There isn't a great deal of reporting for Chinese troops on the NK border, although the Telegraph has this.

I am not as concerned with North Korea as I am with China. As the Chinese economy tanks, I expect the CCP to follow the Argentine model of "Las Malvinas san nuestras" to keep the population distracted. The problem is that Asia is a powder keg and posturing can get out of control very quickly.

While I don't think there's any history being made here, thanks for the links.
