I'm looking for suggestions for a group of 10 - 12 (most likely all female) experienced horse riders who will be spending 2 nights in down-town Buenos Aires next year.

Something like: A day trip to an Estancia where they can ride, have great BBQ, culture/show...without feeling too touristy

Also a place to spend a night out learning/dancing Tango in Buenos Aires...bear in mind its probably an all female group

Thanks

If you do not want it to be too touristy (and low level classes), avoid La Viruta and La Catedral. This site lists most milongas of the week (weekly updated) and whether they have classes before the milonga: http://www.hoy-milonga.com/

If you are an all women group however, you would probably have a shortage of male dance partners to practice with.

You can always call tango taxi for a few partners. And they know a good place for the night. Personally I like La Viruta. It is good easy fun place to go learn a few tango steps. And have a beer. Or a fernet. No worries if you've never taken one step. Visit Salon Canning before to be inspired.

La viruta never felt low class to me. Maybe I am not sure what a snob may infer by these words. Touristy, not sure today. I will go again this Saturday to see... .
