Houellebecq, a must-read ?

Not so much more than before, I guess. Houellebecq was "all the rage" without the Goncourt and it's amazing how he got it when he's beginning to be less sparkling and outrageous. I thought he was declared a "must-read" after "La possibilité d'une île" and he got translated everywhere:) Anyways, I fail to see how the Goncourt is going to change things that much for Houellebecq right now - his next step is perhaps to become a "must see" and conquer the film market, now that would be something else, which I'm not sure I'm highly anticipating, but I admit to a certain curiosity.
For some reason, I would have preferred Virginie Despentes :D
