How far will it go

I am about to be "in between jobs". I will have a payout.
How far will 40kU$D go in the next year or so? Inflation or crash.
I have been to BA a few times. I have money but i do not want to blow the bank.I can see spending 750$ a month on an apartment.. Maybe less if i find a deal. I would like to live abroad for as long as possible on a fixed amount. When its over i go back to work. If i find a job there paying by way i may stay. Thanks
